Committees
A new Performing Arts Teachers Association (PATA) will be forming soon to help implement the programs of the Bachus Center. Membership will be open to all central Texas performing arts music teachers: public school, private school, and private studio. If you would like to be notified when meetings will be scheduled, please send an email to us at thebachuscenter@gmail.com or call the conservatory office at 512-454-2533.
PATA is being formed to organize programs for performing arts students. Programs will be funded through donations, grants and fundraising events. Programs will include the Music Education Scholarship Program, Performance Outreach Program, Instrument Program, Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra Programs, and Music Heroes Program.
Creating a network of performing arts teachers is an important step toward building successful community-based programs for musically inclined students. Committees will organize events such as benefit concerts and instrument drives. As funds become available, performing arts teachers can help identify students for the Music Education Scholarship program. Music schools and private music teachers would be hired through the Bachus Center to provide music instruction for scholarship students in Austin and central Texas.
Please tell other performing arts teachers about this new association. Let's all work together to give new meaning to the idea that Austin is the live music capital of the world. Budget cuts will not stop us! We will find ways to provide a quality education in the performing arts for our financially challenged students and have fun at the same time.
If you would like to be notified of the first organizational meeting and the subsequent regular meeting dates, please call 512-454-2533 or email theBachusCenter@gmail.com.
Thank you,
